RCS Board of Education member Mrs. Pascha Burge visited PLC, RTA, and VLA on Monday to express appreciation to all faculty and staff for their dedication to the students of Rome City Schools. Mrs. Burge congratulated Mr. Dunn on 15 years in Rome City Schools. Mrs. Burge also expressed her appreciation to Mrs. Forsyth for her twenty-nine years in education.

After studying different climates and habitats, VLA students created dioramas. The students shared these with their classmates in science . The students were also tasked with writing an informational essay about their habitat that was utilized as one of the writing assignments in ELA.
Congratulations to Ka'Mori Fluker! Ka'Mori's Bubble Gum Machine won first place in the structures category in the Final Cardboard Challenge at the elementary level. Ka'Mori was presented with a pizza gift card and a Visa gift card. We appreciate Communities in Schools for the opportunity to participate in the Cardboard Challenge and for their financial support for the gift cards.

After studying sound, fourth grade students were challenged to build their own musical instrument. Students presented their designs and discussed the pitch and frequency of the sound waves produced by the instrument.

Coach Floyd hosted the second virtual field trip of the "Rome-ing Floyd" series for students in the Virtual Learning Academy. Coach Floyd visited the Floyd County EMS Headquarters and worked with Captain Ben Harbin, Lieutenant Ryan Holden, Charlie Bullard, and Tim Wells. The VLA is thankful for this opportunity to visit!
