Congratulations to our students that represented the VLA in the school level challenge this week. Two students will advance to the Final Cardboard Challenge on March 25. Our Final Challenge participants are Kamori Fluker and Mahli Cooper. We are proud of your hard work!
The Rome Board of Education will have a called meeting on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Rome Board of Education Administrative Offices in the former Boardroom located at 508 East Second Street.
The purpose of the meeting is to interview applicants to fill the board seat vacated by the resignation of Mr. John H. Uldrick as well as other items.
The Three Little Pigs! First grade students completed a week-long comparative literature unit on The Three Little Pigs. As a culminating STEM activity, students built houses out of marshmallows and toothpicks. The houses were tested against the strength of the "huffing and puffing" of a hair dryer.

Congratulations to the February VLA Wolves of the Month!
First grade students in Mrs. Mitchell's classroom learned about Benjamin Franklin and his inventions. Students created a kite and drew one of Franklin's inventions in each section of the kite.

AJ Stubbs is enjoying her headsets in the virtual learning classroom. AJ participated in the February Be Engaged Challenge and won these headsets.
Fourth graders are studying light and how images are reflected with flat, concave, and convex mirrors.
Virtual Field Trips! VLA students and teachers enjoyed a trip to the farm with Coach Floyd. Coach Floyd is the host of "Rome-ing Floyd" a virtual field trip series for students in Rome City Schools Virtual Learning Academy. Where will we go next?
